BACKGROUND

Bernie Neil worked for the Canadian Military as a Civilian Missile Technician and Manager. Bernie has over thirty years experience on various weapons systems and received factory training on all aspects of the RIM 7M/7P Vertical Launch Sea Sparrow, the Jet Vane Control and the MK 20 Launch Canister as well as the AN/DSM 156D Test Set.

In 1989 he was given the immeasurable task of setting up maintenance and production testing for the Vertical Launch Seasparrow at Canada's East Coast Facility in support of the Navy's new Frigate Program. Since Canada was the first to come on line with the Vertical Launch a great deal of support equipment had to be developed. Bernie and his staff were instrumental in the development of this equipment as well as many jigs and fixtures used in repair and testing of the Jet Vane Control and Launch Canister. A lot of the support equipment is now part of the Vertical Launch package in use by many other countries.

In 1993 Canada's West Coast Missile Facility came on line and Bernie transferred to the West Coast to set up maintenance and production testing for that Facility. In 1996 a Seasparrow Technical Manual validation team chose the West Coast Facility to conduct a validation of the MK 20 Canister Maintenance Procedure. Bernie and his staff were essential to the development of the Technical Manual receiving letters of appreciation for a job well done.

In 1997 Bernie retired from the Canadian Government and using his vast knowledge of Missile Weapons Systems decided to open B. NElL CONSULTING SERVICES.
